World Bank’s Annual World Development Report Online

Access to the World Bank’s open access collection, World Development Report Online, is now available directly from the Consortium Luxembourg Portal.

First published in 1978, the “World Development Report,” or WDR, is the World Bank’s annual flagship publication on development. Each report provides in-depth analysis and policy recommendations on a specific and important aspect of development—from agriculture, the role of the state, transition economies, and labour to infrastructure, health, the environment, and poverty.

A free optional individual user account allows users to take advantage of tools such as bookmarking and saving selected chapters or reports, saving searches, and taking notes.

Thesaurus Linguae Graecae

Consortium Luxembourg is pleased to announce the addition of Thesaurus Linguae Graecae (TLG) to the Consortium Luxembourg Portal.

Founded in 1972, the TLG represents the first effort in the Humanities to produce a large digital corpus of literary texts. Since its inception the project has collected and digitized most texts written in Greek from Homer (8 c. B.C.) to the fall of Byzantium in AD 1453 and beyond. Its goal is to create a comprehensive digital library of Greek literature from antiquity to the present era. TLG research activities combine the traditional methodologies of philological and literary study with the most advanced features of information technology.

The Online TLG contains more than 105 million words from over 10,000 works associated with 4,000 authors and is constantly updated and improved with new features and texts.

Open Access Publishing in European Networks (OAPEN)

The OAPEN Library is now available in the Consortium Luxembourg Portal.

OAPEN (Open Access Publishing in European Networks) is a collaborative initiative to develop and implement a sustainable Open Access publication model for academic books in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The OAPEN Library aims to improve the visibility and usability of high quality academic research by aggregating peer reviewed Open Access publications from across Europe.

Two Reference Works from de Gruyter Now Available

Consortium Luxembourg is pleased to announce the addition of two reference works from de Gruyter to the Consortium Luxembourg Portal:

  • Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon / Artists of the World : The database Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon Online / Artists of the World Online is the world’s most contemporary, reliable and extensive reference work on artists. It contains authoritative, up-to-date biographical information on more than 1 million artists.
  • Deutsche Biographische Enzyklopädie / Dictionary of German Biography : This online edition of Deutsche Biographische Enzyklopädie / Dictionary of German Biography provides information about people from all aspects of public life: men and women from the entire German-speaking area from the time of the very earliest written records right up to the present. The biographies inform the reader about the person´s origins, education, influential encounters, professional development, places of influence, significant works and achievements, friendships and relationships, membership of groups and associations, reception and, in special cases, prizes and honours. To be able to evaluate the life and work of a person in its completeness, DBE only contains people who are already dead.

Routledge Encyclopaedia of Philosophy

Consortium Luxembourg is pleased to announce the addition of the Routledge Encyclopaedia of Philosophy (REP) to the Consortium Luxembourg PortalREP provides a dynamic on-line resource for researching, teaching and studying in the philosophy arena and related disciplines.  It covers a wide breadth of subject matter, including Anglo-American, ethical and political, cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, continental and contemporary philosophy. Regularly upgraded with new material, revisions, and bibliographic updates, REP provides access to the latest scholarship and major developments in philosophical inquiry worldwide.

Access to the Routledge Encyclopaedia of Philosophy is via the “Find Database” header under the letter “R” or by searching on any of the words in its title.

Dalloz Revues

Nous avons le plaisir de vous communiquer l’ajout d’un nouveau produit dans le portail du Consortium Luxembourg, “Dalloz Revues”.

Dalloz Revues présentent les 23 revues de Dalloz  en accès numérique, feuilletables en ligne. Le site offre un outil de recherche par revue et année ainsi qu’une recherche en “full text”.

En plus, les revues numériques sont en ligne avant la parution papier :

  • 2 jours avant pour les hebdomadaires ;
  • 5 jours avant pour les mensuels ;
  • 10 jours avant pour les bimestriels et trimestriels.

Dalloz Revues est désormais disponible sous l’intitulé “Bases de données” sous la lettre “D”.

Vodeclic

Vodeclic, un catalogue de plusieurs milliers de formations couvrant 100% des usages du grand public dans leur environnement personnel ou professionnel (Bureautique, Multimédias, Internet, Sécurité…), est désormais disponible sur le portail de Consortium Luxembourg.

Vodeclic offre plus de 300 heures de formation illimitée sur plus de 324 sujets. Par exemple:

  • Une formation intégrale sur l’iPad : gérer les applications, ajouter un compte e-mail, se connecter en wi-fi, etc.;
  • 6h45 minutes en 85 vidéos de formation sur Microsoft Word 2010;
  • Créer un blog avec blogger ou WordPress; ou
  • Comment “voyager sur la terre entière” avec Google Earth.

International Philosophical Bibliography / Répertoire Bibliographique de la Philosophie

The International Philosophical Bibliography (full edition and retrospective edition) has now been added to the Consortium Luxembourg portal.

This bibliography is the successor of, on the one hand, the Répertoire bibliographique de la philosophie, which has appeared quarterly since May 1934 as a supplement of the Revue néoscolastique de philosophie (renamed Revue philosophique de Louvain, in 1946), and, on the other, of the Bibliografisch Repertorium van de Wijsbegeerte, which has appeared as part of the Tijdschrift voor Filosofie, since 1939.

The bibliography is published by the Institut Supérieur de Philosophie (Université Catholique de Louvain) and the Hoger Instituut voor Wijsbegeerte (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven).

The full edition contains all issues from 1997 to the present day while the retrospective edition contains issues up to 1996.  You can check this page for precise information regarding the coverage of the retrospective edition.
