About Consortium Luxembourg

Consortium Luxembourg, headquartered at the National Library, plays a key role in empowering libraries across the country with high‑value digital resources. Our mission is to deliver participating libraries cost‑effective, seamless access to a rich portfolio of electronic content—including leading academic databases, e‑journals, and e‑books.

By negotiating usage rights on behalf of our member institutions, Consortium Luxembourg ensures that libraries benefit from optimal licensing conditions while saving time and resources. We also provide a robust authentication infrastructure, guaranteeing secure and reliable access for all users.

The integration of metadata into the common library catalog a‑z.lu ensures that electronic resources are searchable and accessible within the catalog for libraries that are part of the bibnet.lu network.

Participating libraries:

  • National Library of Luxembourg
  • University of Luxembourg
  • Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST)
  • Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH)
  • Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER)
  • Institut National des Langues Luxembourg (INLL)
  • Institut de Formation de l’Éducation Nationale (IFEN)

Consortium Luxembourg supports international exchange and cooperation with other consortia and participates actively in professional networks. It is a participant of GASCO (German, Austrian and Swiss Consortia Organisation) and member of the International Coalition of Library Consortia (ICOLC) as well as UKSG, enabling ongoing dialogue and the sharing of best practices.
