A whole new look for zbMATH is now online!
zbMATH, formerly Zentralblatt MATH, is a comprehensive source of bibliographic data, reviews and abstracts from all areas of pure and applied mathematics as well as its applications, in particular to the natural sciences, computer science, economics and engineering. It also covers history and philosophy of mathematics and university education.
The new zbMATH has now been online for a few days – featuring a new layout and innovative search functions. Since June zbMATH has offered a much clearer look and feel, coupled with additional search functions.
zbMATH – the facts:
- The new, easier-to-use search function rapidly delivers precise results for documents, authors, journals etc.
- The new filter function analyzes results in real-time, helping users to further refine their search terms and successfully carry out complex searches.
- Includes the integrated swMATH-database – a key feature for users searching for mathematics software.
- More than 3 million indexed entries from over 3,500 journals, 1,100 series and 170,000 books from 1868 to the present.
- Daily updating and more than 120,000 new entries every year.
- Reviewed by more than 7,000 experts from around the globe.
zbMATH offers an essential tool for mathematicians working at academic institutes, and for all others who use mathematics in their careers.
You can access zbMATH via findit.lu inside the buildings of National Library and University of Luxembourg by selecting the letter “Z” via the “Find databases” tab.

Nouveau site science.lu du FNR
Le Luxembourg dispose d’un nouveau site Internet dynamique, résultat d’une coopération entre un grand nombre d’acteurs scientifiques luxembourgeois.
Sont présentés sur ce site des projets de recherche, des acteurs scientifiques luxembourgeois et des sujets scientifiques. En outre, le public y trouve des expériences à reproduire et il a la possibilité de poser des questions scientifiques à Mr. Science.
Les enfants, les adolescents et les adultes y trouveront des informations sur la science et la recherche au Luxembourg et dans le monde entier. Ce projet commun des organisations scientifiques et de recherche luxembourgeoises doit contribuer à familiariser les personnes qui vivent au Luxembourg et aux alentours avec les activités, les découvertes et les résultats de la science.
Au-delà, a-z.lu, l’outil de recherche nouvelle génération que la BnL à lancé en mai 2013, vient d’être présenté sur le portail science.lu.

À l’approche du printemps, nous sommes heureux de vous annoncer la naissance d’OpenEdition Books. Cette nouvelle plateforme a pour ambition de construire une bibliothèque internationale pour les humanités numériques et ce, en encourageant les éditeurs à développer le libre accès sur le long terme. OpenEdition Books est une plateforme de livres en sciences humaines et sociales. OpenEdition Books diffuse les ouvrages de référence d’éditeurs de sciences humaines et sociales.
Les ouvrages sont accessibles par un catalogue commun à tous les éditeurs, qui permet d’effectuer une recherche par catégories, disciplines, éditeurs, auteurs, langue ou encore année de parution. Les recherches via le moteur peuvent porter soit sur les livres soit, plus finement, sur les chapitres de livres. Toute recherche peut ensuite être restreinte en spécifiant les catégories, les disciplines, les éditeurs ou auteurs souhaités. Les ouvrages sont consultables sur l’espace propre à chaque éditeur. Ils sont, pour plus de la moitié du catalogue, librement accessibles en HTML, citables, imprimables et “encapsulables” sur des sites externes.
