Over 12,000 jazz artists are represented. Naxos Music Library Jazz comprises the catalogues of Blue Notes Records, 22 labels of Fantasy Jazz and over 200 other labels. Blue Note offers albums featuring the legendary artist John Coltrane and iconic artists such as Herbie Hancock, Dexter Gordon, Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter and many others. Beneath the Jazz Library we’re offering trials to two further databases.

Naxos Music Library World: Naxos Music Library World offers a wide range of World music, from legendary historical musical performances to contemporary World music. Included are recordings of over 32,000 artists, representations from over 1500 cultural groups and music from over 150 countries. Over 5,060 albums (45,700 tracks) are available and new albums are added weekly. The complete Smithsonian Folkways catalog is also included.

Naxos Musical Works Database: This new Naxos service meets the needs of many artists and performing arts organisations – a place where they can find all the most important information about classical musical works — instrumentation, playing time, year of composition, composer biographies, music notes and much more. The data are derived from the vast amount of information included in the Naxos Music Library, augmented by information from many other sources and music publishers.

Trial: IMD World Competitiveness Online

WcOLogoConsortium Luxembourg is happy to announce that we’re conducting a trial of IMD World Competitiveness Online through 26th September 2015.

IMD World Competitiveness Online is a unique and comprehensive database on the competitiveness of nations. It includes time series from the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook, the leading annual report published by IMD since 1989.

The main functionalities include:

  • Extensive country profiles, presented in a very visual and user-friendly way
  • Any combination of data for 61 countries, a 20-year time series and more than 300 criteria
  • Downloads (Excel and PDF)
  • Excellent search and data filters
  • Data can easily be re-used in other software for analysis

Consortium Luxembourg is happy to offer a trial of MLA International Bibliography on Ebsco for the evaluation of a possible platform change in 2015. Currently, MLA has always been available via Cengage/Gale. The Ebsco trial available until end of October.

Produced by the Modern Language Association (MLA), the electronic version of the bibliography dates back to the 1920s and contains millions of citations from journals & series, as well as book publishers. The indexed materials coverage is international, and includes titles and full-text links from JSTOR and Project Muse, Wiley-Blackwell and Taylor & Francis. This resource also contains hundreds of thousands of subject names and terms.

Broad Subject Coverage for Comprehensive Research
Subjects within the MLA International Bibliography consist of literature, language and linguistics, folklore, film, literary theory & criticism, dramatic arts, as well as the historical aspects of printing and publishing. Listings on rhetoric and composition and the history, theory and practice of teaching language and literature are also included.

MLA Thesaurus

PQ_logo2013Consortium Luxembourg has temporarily expanded its subscription to ProQuest Dissertations and Theses – Abstracts & Index to full-text access.

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global is the world’s most comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses from around the world, spanning from 1743 to the present day and offering full text for graduate works added since 1997, along with selected full text for works written prior to 1997. It contains a significant amount of new international dissertations and theses both in citations and in full text.

The temporary access is to all constituent files, including Health & Medicine, History, Language & Literature, Science & Technology, Social Sciences, Arts and Business.
